Trained in Great Britain, Jan Benham has been a practicing holistic therapist and cosmetologist for over 25 years. She is a fellow of both the International Federation of Health & Beauty Therapists and the  International Council of Holistic Therapists UK. A menber of the Canadian Examining Board of Health Care Practitioners. Past President, CFA (Canadian Federation of Aromatherapists), Founder and Director of the Institute of Aromatherapy and The Jan Benham School of Holistic Studies.

 

  Experience:

* Taught Aromatherapy under Shirley Price, one of the pioneers and  co-founder of Aromatherapy in England.

* In private practice in England,  Montreal and Toronto since 1982.

* Founded the Institute of Aromatherapy in Montreal  1986.

* Promoted the Canadian Congress of Aromatherapy in 1999.

* Organized & promoted alternative health exhibitions in Montreal and Toronto.

* Author of natural health columns in Newspapers and Magazines.

* Numerous appearances on popular television lifestyle programmes.

* Featured regularly on BBC Radio in the United Kingdom. 

 

As the President of the Institute and Author of 'The Creamy Craft of Cosmetic Making with Essential Oils and their Friends', and 'The Baby Boomers Beauty Bible', Jan interacts with students as the instructor for all Advanced Level Studies and most Energy Work Courses - while supervising all Introductory Level courses, and conducting most of the Special Interest Courses organized by the Institute of Aromatherapy.

Janet Williams M.B.S.R.  H.A.R.  R.A.C., Cert Ed., is a ceritfied reflexologist. She quaified in the UK 15 years ago with the British School of Reflexology. She also qualified in Therapeutic Massage, Stress Management, Nutrition and Indian Head Massage.

She has beenlecturing and running workshops in all these subjects for the last five years in the UK. She moved to Canada in February 2001, and is now practicing Reflexology in Toronto. She is a member of all the major Reflexology organizations in the UK and Canada.

 

Helena Ovens N.D., FCAH, CCH., is a Doctor of Naturopathy, Classical Homeopath and Bowen Therapist. She has been in full-time practice in the Toronto region since 1992. Upon graduation, she was the recipient of teh Dr. Joe Boucher/Dr. Leo Roy Award for Excellence in Clnical Nutrition.

Helena has been involved in many alternative therapies but in her practice concentrates on Clinical Nutrition, Classical Homeopathy, Western Botanicals, Bowen Therapy and Counseling. Her goal is the prevention of disease and the promotion of health and well being for her patients. She is dedicated to putting the "care" back into healthcare.

 

Rani Johnson  teaches our Reiki special interest courses. She has been a Reiki Master since 1994, and also does energy work in the form of soul purpose aura portraits and interpretation.

 

Violet A. Cordy completed the CNHP course at The Jan Benham Scool of Holistic Studies. She is an artist and a Montessori trained tutor who teaches English as a Second Language.
